It is now official that Terrell Owens will be a Cincinnati Bengal this season. He agreed to the terms of the contract as Bengals.com reports and will be in the locker room in time for training camp.
This is great news if you are a Cincinnati Bengals fan and this move is what guarantees that the Bengals will be better in the passing game then they were last season.
Owens gives quarterback Carson Palmer a large bodied possession wide receiver that can give the Bengals big plays.
This shakes up things in the line up because now Owens will most likely replace Antonio Bryant for the second receiver which helps when Bryant hasn't shown production to this point.
The team does not need another free agent bust like Laveranues Coles was last season. So far it appears Antonio Bryant will be that guy.
There hasn't been a solid receiver to replace TJ Houshmandzadeh from two seasons ago, but I think Owens will give the younger players time to grow into their roles.
Owens was thought to have had a bad year last season, but you have to remember he didn't have a solid quarterback because Buffalo's starting quarterback was injured half the season last year.
Buffalo's second string quarterback was Ryan Fitzpatrick, and if you've watched the Bengals for the past couple seasons he had the Bengals a 4-11-1 team.
The most important thing is you didn't hear him complain last season because he was just greatful to have a team.
This season he will be with Chad Ochocinco who has been a friend for a decent amount of time, and Carson Palmer who has the talent to be the best quarterback in the league.
I have high expectations for the passing game this season and they have no excuses to run the ball five times in a row this season.
I look for the team to be more balanced and have a lot more big plays whether in the running game or passing game.
You can't single cover Chad Ochocinco or Terrell Owens so it will be interesting to see what the defenses do in this situation.
I said it before this is the move I've been looking forward to the Bengals making all off season and I'm very excited that they followed through with it.
The Bengals have the growing defense that was ranked fourth last year now they strengthened an offense that was once one of the most explosive in the league.
They will need all the help they can get to survive the schedule ahead. This makes training camp that mch more important for the Bengals this year. They need to be focused because they definately are going to have to battle each and every game this season.
